I live in northeast Ohio and have a Farmall A. It has an offset pto and no 3 point hitch. I am looking for a 4 or 5 foot pull behind brush hog. Does anyone know if I can find this within a reasonable distance from where I am? How much should I expect to pay for this?

I just cut 10 acres pulling a 4-footer with my '44 A...worked great. Haven't done anything about a 3-point hitch, just drag it behind, although I like the electric winch idea. I'm near Erie, PA, and there's plenty of places that would be happy to sell brush-hogs, so you shouldn't have any trouble where you are.

Greetings:

I bought a 4 ft King Kutter 3 pt brush hog from TCS for my 1940 Farmall A. 4 ft is about as big as you want to go for a Farmall A. I did not place the 3 pt. mounting hardware on the mower. I initially made an attachment to the drawbar using angle iron. This worked well, but made adjusting the height difficult to say the least. I then created a non-standard 3 pt hitch that is powered by an electric winch. This works well for me and was less costly than adding hydraulics. Best of luck.

I appreciate the advice. I am weighing my options. I have received some good information to chew on.

You can modify a three point mower to fit your single point hitch. This is what I have. Check with Hugh McCay of this group.

A 4' would be a perfect fit. I had a 4 foot behind a IH 130.
