Have found following old stuff in storage, all looks good for age; opinions please as to working same.

NH 269 sq baler NH sickle mower

NH hay conditioner (Not a cutter - just conditioner that can either be powered by tractor or by attaching to the above sickle mower)

New Idea rake, no model # visible.

Widow farmer wants $1700 for kit n kaboottle.

Pros - Cons ?

Status Update:

Old Baler looks good - knoters well lubed and not broken up/welded. No kicker.

Mower solid - not pitman.

Rake so-so.

Conditioner, of course, best piece of lot.

Price down to $1500

Tanks for advice on price; what about "usability" factor on model 269 baler? Problems?

I have a 268 with thrower, and am happy with it, except for the fingers (4) that feed hay into the chamber. I believe they went to 6 to correct those problems in the later 268 and 269 models.

Would be a little high around here, but if it's a good 2 wheel rubber tired hay rake then everything is pretty good stuff. If it''s an older 4 wheeled rake walk away...

If the rake is on rubber tires that might not be too far off if it's all in good shape. If it's a steel wheeled four bar, then the baler better be really primo.

You might try to have a competent disinterested 3d party give an opinion of it all.

I'm looking at a NH 7' sickle bar mower and 7' conditioner for $300. $1700 seems high, but depends on your locality.

I would say it is high. But I don't know the condition on it either. N.H. is among the best in hay equipment.

Well, the NI rake, if it is a 402 , would be worth around $700 here, in good shape (a good rake is hard to find). The 269 baler would be worth $350 if it has a chute, $500 if it has a thrower. The sickle mower, if it has a balanced head, would be worth $400, if pitman arm, $250. The conditioner would be worth $25, regardless of what condition it's in. So that's not too far off, by New Jersey standards, anyway.
