I am thinking about buying a NH 269. It was engine run and the guy said he gave away the pto shafts. Ive looked local for the shafts(complete tractor to flywheel) with no luck. They appear to be the same on 269, 273 etc. I have read that some of you say these balers are worthless in your area so if you know a bone yard or person that has one that I can lock in before I purchase this baler please contact me.

I would probably do the opposite and try to find a working baler and see if any of the parts on this machine could be used on your working baler before I would buy one without a drive system. Too many good working balers out there for less than a $1000 that may save you a bunch of money in the long run. Might have to wait till fall or after the hay season to get a great deal but you may be still working on this one then.

I would keep looking personally to locate a pto powered baler. That sounds like a lot too me, of course it always depends on how bad ya want it and how much it would take to get it going.
