Converting loader to quick release

I've got a tractor with a loader that I would like to cover to a "quick release" loader. I've done a search on this forum and have come up empty. I was planning to go to a tractor dealer and ask around, but I thought I'd ask here first. The loader has pins that will release the structure. The problem is with the hydraulic lines. Can I just unscrew the junctions leading from the pump and insert the quick release style couplings? This would seem too easy, but makes sense to me, except for preventing air from entering the lines. Plaease advise.

You are asking about removing the entire loader (mostly, maybe not the basic frame) from the tractor, not just the bucket?

Yes, you can buy the standard Pioneer quick couplers from the farm supply store & thread them into your lines. Air will not be a problem, _unless_ you would let the pump itself drain, they sometimes need priming. But in the lines, just cycle the cylinders a couple of times & the air will be removed.

The quick couplers add a tiny bit of resistance to the flow, but not so as it will matter. You will be leaving the selector valves on the tractor, right? Then you can use these quick connects for implements. If you are removing the levers as well, then I think you need to couple the hoses and let the oil flow through, or you will wreck the pump on most older open centers.

Be careful, make sure there is no pressure on the lines, and you know the loader will drop if you don't have it down, etc. :)
