Has anyone built or designed a bed shaper? It looks like something that could be locally manufactured with toolbar adjustability for spacing, etc. Thanks

barnaby: I built one of these 12 years ago, and yes I agree if you see one in an auction probably the way to go. Unless you are in the right area you may wait a long time for that. Mine is just a heavy piece of channel mounted on fast hitch in my case. 3 point would work just as well. In the wheel tracks I have a real heavy lister type hoes, about 6" below channel. I also use a potato type hiller on center mount tool bar. That helps a lot in bringing soil in to shape bed. I have these set almost 36" bringing it in to a row. By doing this you don't need to drag as much soil as the unit on behind is levelling that row as well as bringing soil in from both sides.

I found before I used the hiller on front it took several passes to shape a bed from tractor wheel to wheel. If you have any questions e mail me.
