Need a better explination. How do you know the original sway bar is too long, or what are you calling 'normal'? You said you bought 2 new ones, so throw the long one away in a corner & use the 2 proper ones. If they don't work, then buy the proper length ones, or buy sway chains & use those. (Maybe you bought 'Ford' sway bars - every tractor, heck every model - is different.) As you found, you need them. Both sides. You said there is nothing on the other side to connect to. How do yours connect in the first place? There are many different designs. Do you have a metal 'ear' coming down off the fender area of the axle, and it connects to there? Or do you have a metal stud sticking out of the tranny/rear end area & it connects to there? You will need to find the same parts for the other side. You might just be missing a simple stud, or you could be missing several very expensive (if bought OEM) parts. I'd go to a junk yard locator or the local weld shop to have those parts fabricated. Some tractors can use a simple chain on the inside of the 3-point arms, these aren't great, but will do the job. Do you have connecting points for these at least? --->Paul
