Kuhn hay cutter question

I just bought a used Kuhn cutter (GMD 700 HD) and I need to replace the blades. I noticed that the blades are currently mounted with the bevel of the blades facing down towards the ground. Is this correct? It looks like they should be mounted with the bevel facing up as in a conventional lawnmower blade. Any help would be appreciated!

On all makes of disc mowers, the bevel of the blades face upwards.

We've used various makes of disc mowers for 30 odd years or so and are currently running a New Holland disc mower, When the blades are new, and have eventually wore on one side, you take them off the disc that is rotating say clockwise, and replace them with the disc turning in the opposite direction. Does that answer your question?

OK, so your mower uses reversile blades, but the original question was, which way up, even yours are bevel side up arn't they?

nope the kuhn gen 2 700 hd the bevel is on same side so one side will be up and when you flip it the bevel will face the ground...in fact just started season with new kuhn and the blades came from kuhn with bevel facing down...so it goes back to what kind of mower you have..new idea has bevel on each side..so bevel will be up..vicion is the same way..kuhn gen 2 700 hd nope...have nice day may god bless

Mine is a 617 New Holland disc mower, much the same design as yours, 3 point mounted, 9ft 2inch cut, bla, bla, bla, We bought it new 4 years ago and it came with the reversible type blades, We cut around 385-400 acres a year with no problems so far, the blades are changed about every 200 acres or so, How wide a windrow does your mower leave, ours is about 5 feet.
Regards.
