All right boys, belly up to the bar and tell me what you know about Darf rakes. Seems I bought me a NIXIN wheel rake this morning and I need to find some rake teeth for it. The tag on the rake says: NIXIN, manufactured by Nixon Manufacturing Company, manufactured by Darf Company for or by a wholly owned subsidiary. I tried searching for Darf Company, but got no hits. Are these companies still in business or sold out or just plain gone. Thanks for the help. Now enjoy a cold one and get this discussion started.

Don't know if anyone still needs any info, I have an old Darf rake, 7 wheel, one side only. I was looking through a book that has a picture of one (a vrake) and say's "new darf rakes available", maybe they would know what you need. www.gti-bti.com

I have a John Deere wheel rake made by Darf. I've always gotten my teeth from my JD dealer. HTH

The problem is that I don't know who the dealer would be for this rake. I was into the Agco dealer today and they refer to it as a windrow roller. They said Darf made one for I think he said New Idea also and they still had a few teeth in stock but I would have to bring one in to match up. I also would like to know what name it was sold under as the ID plate was a little confusing. Is NIXIN the company name or the model name. If the model name then is Nixon the company name or is Darf.

Darf was based out of Edenton, NC their main product was a root rake to use with a dozer. I have heard that a company in California bought them out. I'm not sure if the new company is doing anything with the hay rake or not.
