I have a 14T baler that needs a new bearing or bushing in the plunger end of the connecting rod. I am talking about the large arm that pushes the plunger into the chamber. I have looked at the plunger/rod assembly and I don't see how that comes apart. The pin does not seem to be accessible from the outside. What is the trick? By the way, is there a bushing in there or is it a bearing or bearings?

Thanks

Warren

Warren: I once owned a 214T, which is a little heavier version of a 14T. On the plunger, on the right side (pickup side) just ahead of the pin that goes through the pitman, there is a bolt through a strap iron that holds, or possibly is connected to the pin. I think if you remove that bolt, the pin will drive out toward the pickup side of the plunger. Deere doesn't have the 14T or 214T parts catalog on the net. If you don't have an old parts catalog, you will have to go to your Deere dealer to see if it is a bushing, etc. David
