Might this work instead of a permanently mounted 3 point conversion?

It would probably work with everything except the rear blade in a slanted position. If the blade is at an angle there is not enough weight to hold the blade in place. Skidding sideways of wheel can be heard.

I learned that from a home made disk I purchased at a sale. It is just one section from a bigger disk. They added a draw to it and put a big turn buckle at a angle from the pull to the disk. This way I guess you could change the angle.
Well needless to say when you change the angle of the disk all that happens is the whole disk just moves over and still runs with the disks strait.
Doh!!! How dumb. My wife had a chuckle.
I hate it when I give her reason to chuckle.
Any way I will be draggin that back to this years sale. That way another rookie will get to learn a lesson. I bet I get to see that disk at the next 5 sales as one dummy after the other learns this lesson. Then I can Har har har right along with the guys in the coveralls.

Gary,
Here is a link to plans for a similar home-build one. I'm sure it has its limitations, but still an interesting idea. This one can use a remote electric/hydraulic cylinder to raise & lower the implement.

It is at the bottom of the page that the link points to.

Even though there might be certain flaws with this product, there are also certain advantages as was pointed out by one other gentleman. I'm sure when the Wright brothers were hard at work on thier plane the same thing was said to them.

The difference between genuis and stupidity, is that genuis has its limits. "unknown"

one problem with your product right off the bat is when you have something attached it lifts on the back of your tractor instead of putting wieght on the tractor any idiot should know that is not good

Well as any farmer would should know, this type of conversion has been around for years for use with tractors without 3 point hitches. You lose a lot of manuvering but do not have to spend the extra money getting the hitch on the tractor. As long as the axle is in the right place it makes no difference to the weight on the tractor except when out of the ground. Humm. That is the same thing any pull type farm equipment does.

well i am an experienced idiot i suppose ya could say, but i think that with one of those tow behind 3pt conversions ya would lose most of the usefullness of a 3pt, like being able to lift the implement and back up easily, turn on a dime the brakes, and the added traction that the implements weight adds to the tractors rear tires. the one thing that i think one of those carts would be nice for tho is transporting 3pt implements with a pickup or such, like 3pt hay rakes or teddes could be easily brought to a field by towing on the road with a truck,
