That old Case 133 baler of mine made me smile today baling. Figured out a problem with it towards the tail of last years season and finished with about 600 in a row. I didn't have anywhere out of the rain to store it here in western Oregon but with a checkover and bit of lubing I ran a test by holding the string and cycling it. Two perfect ties. Re-strung it and headed for the field. Right off I had two bad bales, strung it wrong! Rerouted it and just finished 387 without a hickup. 64 years old and kicking bales like a 10 year old!

I got a 1960 Case 140 W with Case Engine, aircooled. Id had problems with it for years. I put grease, and then later anti seeze on the shaft running the bill hooks. FinallyI noticed I could take out 2 6in 3/8ths rod that pinched the bill hook shaft at one place off, WQhen off I noticed that they had wire grooves. Found new ones and replaced them, and all was well

The 9N pulling it is the 64 year old, the baler's 44.

No 9N made would pull this bailer. With the engine on it it would pick the front end of a Ford up. I hitch it to a 37 F-30 Farmall and even then, when it sashays side to side during revolutions, I can see the 30 swaying side to side on the rubber tires in the back
