Well fellas, you were right, timothy does go throught the haybine a lot better and is drying a lot faster than the clover salad I cut. I could tell just the way the machine worked when I started into the field, tractor didn't work as hard and the hay seemed to flow throught the haybine smoother. It also layed the hay in a wider row which is directly due to the ground speed as I was able to drive a gear faster. The haybine was set for the widest row but that darned salad seemed to want to drop into the middle of the rollers, the tomothy spread out nicely. I cut Monday, it layed today, I'll turn it in the morning and we'll be baling by three in the afternoon. I think if I had turned it today at noon it might have gone after supper, but it will be better tomorrow and the threat of heating won't be there. I bought 400 bales today, baled onto my wagons, tomorrow I'm figuring on about 650 from seven acres I have cut. With second cuts later in the season I will have all kinds of hay, maybe even some for sale..that's better than having to buy hay in March like I've had to do. Thanks for all the replys, encouragement and advice..Mike in Exeter Ontario
