Looking at replacing my 67 sometime this year or next spring , there is an AC 303 baler in the paper , I'm not familier with the AC line of balers (even though I run a wd45 and 200 tractor ) . Does anyone know the year or how good these balers are ??

Had one, it did a good job for us. Made a good bale and was reliable. Great baler if it has been taken care of especially for small acreages, but probably not what you want if you have a large quanity of hay to bale. Parts not too big a deal yet. Several good dealers in KS had them and there are a few in the junk yards.

A-C quit the hay business in 1975, so parts will be an issue . . . .

We had an AC 300. It was a well built machine and it turned out very neat bales, but it was S L O W,
We had a Claas baler at the same time and it ran rings around it! Something I forgot to mention to Bill in the post below..... Balers do vary don't they!

If my memory is correct, the 303 was the first AC square baler, and nothing to brag about. 25-30+ years old- I'd stay with NH or JD. Just upgrade to a newer version, 268, 269, 273, etc. or JD 336, etc. Can't beat either brand for good ties, reliability, parts, etc. Color of paint behind the hitch pin does not matter- results do!

Thanks for all of the advice and info , I think I'll pass on this baler and look for NH or JD only
