Help. I just bought a New Holland 1002 automatic bale wagon. A users manual was not included. I have ordered a replacement manual, but it will take 2-3 weeks for shipping. I am haying now!
I have figured everything out except how to activate the feet at the end of the platform which push out the stack when dumping the load. I can tilt the bed up and down, but I am unable to get the bales to come off the pallet forks at the end of the bed. Does anyone have experience with this model? Thanks in advance.

Warren: When you raise your third table (the one with 55 bales on it) it pushes a rod that moves a hydraulic spool that then activates hydraulic pressure to the push-off feet. So the lever that
raised the 3rd table to vertical position will now extend the push-off feet when you engage the
lever in the tractor. Hopefully you are operating the 1002 with a tractor that has live hydraulics, it is much easier to push away from the stack. If you look closely at the stackwagon's
left rear corner with the 3 rd table raised you
can trace the actuating rod forward thru the frame and up under the 2nd table. Note: make sure
the rails on those push-off feet are clean, and
lubricated and the return springs are hooked and
in adjustment. Be careful that when you retract the push-off that they return to home position completely before you lower the third table or you
will have push-off rails with a 30 degree angle to them.

Hey Guys,

Glad to see someone using one of these wagons. Know where I can get one cheap?

We used to have a NH 1000 that did not have the hydraulic pushoffs. We had the pump built right on the wagon, ran off a small chain off the main gearbox. We used to pound rods about 4ft long in just inside the teeth when the load was set. Pound these 1/2" rods in 5-6inches and pull right out from under the bales. Make sure the inner roller guides on the moveable teeth stay with the flat side up when the teeth come back to battery at the front of the load. Drop the 3rd rack slow so the teeth come up REAL slow. One guy we knew of at that time had a wagon with pushoffs but his pushoffs ran from tractor hydraulics while the rest of the wagon ran from its own pump.

any other questions may be able to help. Just email me if you want.

Micheal
