I have a one bottom disc plow that has never been assembeled. It has layed in the same spot
since before 1960 and i think it is much older. I believe it may be a Fordson or Ford but it is so rusty i cannot find a name on it
Its serial number is (7051) and says Type AFD20 and is blue to blue gray in color. Please help me figure out what kind it is .Thank You

Brian: The Model AFD-20 Disk terracer is essentially a mid-mounted disc plow. One of the differences with this unit as compared to the true disc plow is that the disc angle of your mid-mount unit is
adjustable. Ferguson produced a 3 point mounted disc plow (2 disc) with an optional 3rd disc available. The mid mounted disc terracer worked very well because the 28 inch diameter disc provided suction when engaged in the soil and transferred weight to the rear drivers. The disc terracer was quite stable and easy to operate because the right front and right rear tires travelled in the previous furrow. Numerous passes made with the disc terracer would move an substantial amount of soil building a
formidable terrace on the contour to reduce run-off and water erosion in hilly areas. Hopefully all of the mounting brackets and hardware are still with the unit frame, disc and angle adjustment bar.

Brian: Check the number again, I think it may be an A-FO 20 Ferguson side-mount disc terracer. To be sure, see if the AFD you posted is actually AF"O".
Let me know what you find out.
