Farmall 460 rear hydraulics??

I have a 460, and am pretty new to tractors. I just bought a 3 point log splitter for it, but the problem is, I can't seem to get the splitter to operate from the rear hydralics hookups. I do have a loader mounted on front, and both sets of hydraulics are working (left and right side of tractor). Also, the rear drawbar hydraulics are working fine. I have been hooking the splitter to the front couplings and tying back the control handle to operate the splitter for now, but this is a hassle. Is there some switch, or other thing I need to do to get the power to my rear hoses? The tractor has 3 hydraulic handles - they operate the drawbar(Tel-e-depth), and the lifting and tipping functions on the loader. Is it not possible to use the rear hydraulics if both front sets are hooked up? Any advice would be appreciated!

What you need to do with the log splitter problem is,plumb two metal hydraulic hoses, either 1/2" or3/4" to the back of your tractor to hook up to the hoses on your splitter using couplers of course. These hoses run from the right side of your front hydraulics you can use a tee to still use your loader. If I"m not mistaken, and I usually am, the middle lever will be the one to operate the splitter. If this still doesent work, try purging your cylinder. My 460 is real bad about air in the line.

check to see if the hyd couplings are the same with balls or tips inside couplings

: They are one of each on tractor, both balls on splitter end.
