looking for needles

Greetings!

Yep, I just bought my "new" Case 200 baler. Looks great, runs great, but someone really busted up the needles (each is in 4 pieces).

Sure enough Case-IH doesn't make them anymore. I'm looking at getting the existing ones welded up, but a salvaged set seems to be the best way for me to go.

So, does anyone know where I can find a set (I'm in the process of checking with some local salvage yards...)?

Thanks!

Tim

Tim, Be sure to figure out why the needles broke. Is the plunger stop working, and also is the needle brake working? How about timing? I don't think you want to replace the needles only to break them with the completion of the first bale. You may want to look at a New Holland baler as their knotter is very similar.

Uhhh - never mind... Case-IH DOES have needles for the baler (that's about all).

A second call to my local Case-IH dealer (and taking to the real parts man) provided the solution.

Ok, now I'm wondering if anyone has a lead on a some knotter parts. It's working now, but I want to be prepared.

The Case-IH dealer said that he couldn't get knotter parts.

Anyone know of a "parts" baler? I'm in Central Utah and would be willing to transport one if it's not too far.

Tim
