We have a lot of skid loader owners who are foam filling their tires. Obviously, there are quite a few pros, but there are some cons as well. 1- COST!. 2- Much harder on rims, hubs and wheel bearings. There is a lot more weight and you really have the machine anchored to the ground. Please keep your lug nuts(or bolts) tight. 3- Rougher ride than air. 4- COST! And when the tire is wore out, more COST again. Having said all of that, the pros generally outweigh the cons. Steve

I have a question on this subject. With a loader on the tractor would the foam filled front tires not absorb as much impact as an air filled tire and transfer more of the jarring motion to the axle ?
Not tried it myself but it seems that foam filled fronts would put more stress on the front axle when driving over bumps, lifting loads, etc...

Absolutely. Foam filled tires have a small footprint, don't flex, and consequently have much less traction than inflated tires.

If the tires still have some tread left its an advantage when running in rough ground and it costs at least 200 per tire to foam fill.
Usually have foam in front tires both mine have it after weekly filling of flat tires (never park out of the barn away from the compressor)and semi annual trips to have tubes patched. It works great on my equipment.

I have the front tires on my 800 Ford filled. It is the best money I've spent on this tractor. Never have to worry about them going flat and the extra weight on the front helps offset the rear mount mower. Good Luck. Roger Allgood

Pro: They won't go flat.

Plus or minus: Adds a bit of weight to the rear, good if you need it, not good if you don't.

Negative: When the tires wear out, you are looking for a heap of miserable work or a new set of rims to go along with the new tires....

Don't often see foam on a bigger tractor like that....

Surprised me.
Have some foam filled ires around here I took off an industrial cart I pickup fot another project. Gave up on their use every time I found a water hole the machine had to stop and check the depth.
I got tired of walking-back for a tractor tow.
