Has anyone here ever used their truck to pull their ground driven speader? If so let me know how it worked for you. Any information that those with this experance could give me would be most welcome. Thanks ahead of time.

I pulled an old John Deere spreader with my Studebaker 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive. Used it quite a bit. Worked great for me.

Ditto on the slow speed- you just about need a 4WD, to keep from tearing up the field, and so you have low range- it's sooo easy to go too fast and tear up the spreader.

Yes, I pulled a John Deere model H spreader behind my 1963 Ford F-100 a few times, the truck was a 2 wheel drive so I was careful to not go where I may have become stuck. A neighbor pulled the same kind of spreader with his 4 wheel drive truck, worked very well. The one thing to keep in mind is that you can easily travel faster than what the spreaders were intended for, thus you could tear up and break things. Keep your speed down to what you would have with a tractor and you will be fine.
