I have a John Deere plow (Not sure of the number) with 2 rubber tires in front, 1 solid tire in the rear and requires a Hydraulic Cylinder to raise it up. I was wondering if I can use a one way cylinder with it or will have to have a 2 way. I know that the plow will drop with its own weight but was wondering, when plowing ,will the plow ride up because the cylinder has no force the other way? Thanks.

A one-way cylinder is all you need. Plows are not pushed into the ground- the sharp plowshare is what pulls the plow into the ground. Years ago, I think it was IH that marketed a 'deep suck' share, designed to get decent penetration of the plow in hard to plow soils.

A one-way cylinder should work fine. The way the moldboard is curved keeps the plow down with the weight of the soil as it's moving.
