I have two Cole planters, both horse drawn as well as some sales literature from the 1930's & 40's.. In the earlier horse drawn planters the color scheme was solid green with red handles. Later, Cole switched to colors similar to John Deere for their tractor pulled planters, green frame w/ yellow seed and fertilizer hoppers. At some point in the early 80's I think it was, Cole began painting their planters solid orange. After Powell Manufacturing purchased the Cole planter line in the mid 80's they went back to solid green. Cole Planters were recently purchased by Covington Planters. They have a website...www.coleplanter.com

All I know about it at this time is as follows made by Cole manufacturing Charlotte N.C. . It has a single seed hopper. It has red handles and green metal work at least on bottom part.

Found this post referencing a Cole one horse corn planter. I am in the process of restoring a cole planter and would like to know if anyone knows the color skeem for a one horse planter. I have it primed ready to paint. Cannot find any info on web.

Thanks J R
