I also posted this on the AC Forum, but here goes:I've been working on a 303 baler for my neighbor. I cleaned it up and ran some hay through it. Then I tried threading the needles but the knotters wouldn't catch the twine. The needles would run up through the knotters, and the twine wouldn't catch in anything. I don't have a manual for an Allis baler (probably where I should have started; I have NH and MF manuals that I thought would be sufficient). Is there a different way to thread the needles, besides running twine through the tips of the needles and tying them back on the needle swing frame? I'm thinking that the needles are out of alignmentt, in that their pitch is too high and they're not close enough to the twine holder discs for the twine to register in them. Is this idea any good? ANY information on the service, availibility of parts, operation and whats wrong with the knotters of this baler would be great! Thank you much for any help, Alex Rogers, Lansdowne Farm.
