Here is a picture of mine mounted on a 3000 Ford. This picture doesn’t show much detail as to hook up. I can email pictures showing more detail if you think it will help with mounting yours on your tractor. I agree with Tim. Purchasing a manual, if you can find one, would be the way to go. You should be forewarned before going too far with this project, parts for it are no longer available from Ford/New Holland. If you are planning to put yours in operation, look around for some one like Tim who is disposing of one for junk and purchase a parts corm puller.

When I bought mine it was complete and operational. That lasted about 30 yards. Then one of the gathering chains broke and went into the rollers which broke one of them. Corn needed gathering, so I wound up paying almost as much for another puller for parts as I paid for the good one.

Gathering chains, though not quite like original can be purchased form Tractors supply places. However, if you should find a source for the rollers please let me know.

I had a 601 picker many years ago mounted on a Ford 5000. Can't remember much about how it mounted to the tractor tho. It did a good, clean job of picking.
Like Tim[nj] says, try to find a book on it. I have seen some op manuals at flea markets from time to time. Ck with NH also.

I have a red one of them sitting in the fencerow (worn out, about to go the scrapper). It was designed for the NAA originally, but brackets were available for many different Fords and some other makes. My grandfather had brackets made to put it on an MF 65. I've got the mounting brackets for the NAA/600 tractors laying around somewhere. I think those brackets will work on Ferguson 30/35 tractors, too. I suggest trying to find a manual for it. There are things you'll need to know about how it goes on and maintenance points that are not obvious by looking. New Holland publications might still have 601 manuals.
