That coulter is used as a guide in order to prevent side-sway which would result in corn being torn out.

Shep, You can accomplish the same thing by using sta-bars on your lift arms.

Sta bars wont work. The cultivator has to have some side sway to follow the contour of the ground. I tried sway bars once but gave up on that. Also have to use draft position.
