I have a Case two bottom pull type plow on steel wheels. It is the type with an external trip dog mechanism that raises the plow with the yank of a rope. It has remnants of green paint on it. Did Case ever paint any of their plows green or is this a later paint job? What is the paint scheme? Were they painted all green or was there any trim?
If they were indeed green, did the color more resemble a John Deere green or an Oliver green?

Like Tim, I don't have one, but I recently saw one
or more at the PA State antique plowing contest (yes, there is such a thing). If memory serves me
from last weekend, wheels were green (darker than Deere) most of plow was orange (call it Flambeau) with the hitch area green along with a few odds and ends parts like maybe the handle sectors.

Well, we never had a Case plow, and I've never seen one in any color but rust anyplace else, BUT we did have a 1948 Case elevator that had its flighting and spoked wheels painted Flambeau red (an orange that I think is a shade darker than Allis) and a dark green frame. The pulleys and sprockets were also green. I know this from pictures when the thing was only about 10 years old and still had most of its paint. By the time I came along, its color was primarily rust, which baffles me, since it set in the shed when not in use filling corn cribs and haymows. The plows most likely had a variation of the same color scheme.

Likewise, no data on the plow, but the old case 4 row check planter we have was a rich dark green (closer to JD) with the burnt orange as a primer.

Anybody want the thing? It worked 2 years ago when I parked it, but well worn.
