Does anyone know why New Holland switched from the auger system to the packer-fork system between the 66 and 67 or 68 balers? I'm thinking of getting a 66, but want to know why NH changed to the packer forks in later models.

Thank you for any help,
Alex Rogers

You can get more capacity with the packer forks. the chain drive wad board bailers just hat too much chain and could not handle as heavy of winrows.
