I am looking for a potato planter. The one I am looking for has a circular pan around a center post that has little chain driven cups on it that you put the seed potato pieces in. My question is does anyone know what company made this planter? Thanks.

Sounds like an Iron Age planter. I have seen a few around, never seen one actually operate. I think you are more likely to find one of the more modern ones that pick up the seed piece automatically with a spike. Many companies made them, I think Aspinwall was the first, most of the ones around here (Vermont) were McCormick or JD.

Where are you located? Oliver/Iron Age planters (and diggers, for that matter) show up with regularity in Pennsylvania. Potato growing isn't nearly as big as it used to be out there, and there's a lot of older potato equipment that collects dust inside old sheds until someone digs it out for an estate or retirement sale.

I would be interested in a digger! I used to plant by hand (kids), now have a 2 row planter I got out of MI. Harvesting would be a whole lot better with a digger - them 5 gallon buckets get old in a hurry. Keep me in mind if ya know of something reasonable.
