Darn!

I just bought a used IH 370 Disc.

Anyone ever own one of these things? How in the heck is the correct way to measure a disc?

The guy I bought if off of says he thinks it is a 14'; but it sure looks just like a 12 footer I used to own at one time. And, I know they sure won't cut what they measure.

Can someone help me get the fog outta my worn-out old brain this morning?

Thanks,

Allan

I"m not the authority on IH stuff, but Deere measures theirs at the cutting edges of the rear gangs. (Front edge of disc.) I feel sure IH would have done the same thing. How many disc blades per section? Width of spools? John

Thanks for bailing me out again John.

I now think I know why I'm getting brain fade on this thing.

I remembered that I used to cut 4 rows of 38" wide corn stubble with that old one; that's where I got the 12' figure in my head.

This disc measures 14 1/2 feet, measured across the rear gangs, outer blade to outer blade, angled at extreme cut and not counting the furrow fillers. There are 11 17.5" blades per gang on 7.5" centers (again, not counting the furrow fillers).

I guess it must be considered a 14 foot rig.

Thanks again,

Allan
