I am trying to restore a horse drawn manure spreader and am looking for pictures and possibly decals. I was just wondering if any one might know where to look.

There is a spreder like you are talking about for sale in St. Clair Mo. this coming wensday. The book for it is on the machine,or it was last week. We have had a lot of rain so I dont know what condition the book is in now. This at a monthly aauction. The machine looked like it sat in a shed and in good useable condition. The Company name is Hiatt Brothers Auction and there phone # is 636 583 4712 Ed and Denny Hiatt. They are located about 45 mi west of St Louis Mo. on interstate 44. Tell us about your spreader.
A four wheel spreader? On steel? Probably a model 8 Or if it has rubber tires and 4 wheels? Then it is probably a model 8R.
I would guess these were the same models for several years production.
These are the two models pictured in what I think is a 1948 Massey Harris Buyers Guide that I have.Sorry my scanner doesn't work.

Sorry. It is 4 wheels, on steel. It still has the beater at the rear that would actually spread the manure, and everything seems to still move. The rear wheels are what drove the unit, and they have straps of steel on a diagonal all around the rear wheels. The seat is missing but would have been a steel seat.
