Find quite a few of those here in Thumb of Michigam. A lot of the land is flat as a tabletop and the farmers like to keep it that way. Also helps the land to drain better. Around here a 3 bottom is plenty for 90 hp tractor. Really heavy and rollover is hard on hydraulics. Oliver and JD most popular.

About the only plough you see in some parts of Europe. Then again they mount most of thier pto powered field implements on a front three point hitch too.

Never liked plowing with a narrow front end tho, you actually have to stay awake & steer....

I believe in 40 years I have seen 2 such plows here in my part of the world. I remember JD pushing them at their farm day video shows in the 70s, and wondered who buys them?

Just like a fellow on another board, he showed pictures of his new tractor & new 24' IHC disk. I always wonder who buys a new disk any more, how does Sunflower stay in business selling them, no one around here uses a disk unless it's a special occation, small plot that needs it for some reason. We all have a little one out back in the grove for that, but any serious ground prep is done with a field cultivator. Disks died in the late 60s already.

But, when you need a tabletop level field, those roll over plows are what you need. And where that disk fellow lives, disks are popular, he has sandy dry soil and no rocks to chip blades.

Here we have all hills and rocks & so adding a furrow or 2 doesn't matter, and the ground is so clay & wet & soaked a disk makes a concrete parking lot out of it in spring....

Interesting to see the different stuff & different needs.
