Has anyone ever owned, used or seen the 2 bar spike tooth harrow that is shown as an option in the John Deere RW and RWA disc harrow parts catalog?
I would sorta like to find one, but I suspect they are pretty rare.

Kasco made one but I think it was 3 bar only, might have made a 2 bar as well, used to be quite a few around, still have one

Other than pictures in the manual, I've only seen a Deere O.E.M. harrow on a disc one time, and that was YEARS ago. My guess is that it wasn't a popular option. (Even though it SHOULD have been) Those models of Deere disc's weren't known for their leveling action. They were well served by having a harrow of some configuration behind them. John

The two bar spike tooth harrow on my JD BW disk came off a planter. They were on the front of a cyclo 400 4 row wide that I bought for parts. I had to make some bars to hold them out back. And they let me make a fine looking seed bed in two disk passes after plowing instead of three.

I suspect most early spike tooth harrow attachments on disks and field cultivators were after market, I'm sure the one that came with my IH 45 field cultivator is after market, not IH.

Some harrow back there is worth the bother. Oh, the one on my disk was made by Swartz. It has cranks and screws to raise and lower the bars to account for different operating depths of the disk.

Are you wanting it to "use" or just to "have"? Not familiar with what you're talking about, but I've used a Hiniker spring-tooth harrow on my field cultivator forever (almost); let's me plant..... .well, before I went no-til and later mostly retired..... .behind the field cultivator without a trip with a do-all. Tried one earlier on a disk, but it didn't work to suit me; too many variables in the way the disk was used. I assume Hiniker is still in business..... ..

Hiniker is in Mankato, MN - make a lot of chemical monitors these days, a little ag equipment.

There is a spring tooth leveler on one out of 5 auctions I go to, $50 for anything less than 18 feet.....

I've got a 25 ft Glencoe field cultivator (with Hiniker harrow) sitting out behind the shop with weeds and saplings growing up thru it; sold several pieces of farm equipment at auction last February; when auctioneer was at my place looking at equipment, I asked him about it; he said not to bother hauling it to auction; sure enough, there were 2 similar to mine sold.....one JD which looked like new; neither brought over $150.00..... .farmers that are left.....around here..... are either no-til or use bigger equipment.
