I am looking for something I have never seen , only heard of , and I don't know what to call it. A man at work say's he used to have a thing I could hook on the stakepocket of my 24' trailer that was ground driven that would pick up small squares like an elevater. I have looked on iron search and have never seen such a thing but I would like to find one and try it.

Don,t know where you are but if you are close to eastern Kansas ,western Missiouri , southeast Nebraska you can get about any kind you would like. And at your price lots of them in fence rows etc. Bring a big trailer and take home a bunch of them. Big balers took there place.

I have one and if you want to buy it, then we can work something out. I have never used it, went round baling so we never used it. The old man at the farm said he used to use it. It has a trick that fits into the pocket of a truck and is ground driven. You line the bal up and it rises to the level of the traile ror truck. Let m eknow if yo are interested, I am in Mass.

We had one when I was a kid that was driven by a Brigs and Straton engine, it had an adjustable incline so you could raise it as you filled the wagon. It worked pretty good. About 6 years ago I used one that was ground driven and would turn the bale 90 dgrs and lift it vertically up to a platform where the stacker could retrieve it and stack. I would use this by myself and the bale coming up would push the bale off the platform onto the wagon. I would stop the tracto every 6-8 bales and stack the pile then proceed to pick up 6-8 more. It worked OK, beat stopping the tractor at each bale or two and hand throwing them onto the wagon. I have a friend that has one that he hasn't used in a couple of years that would probably sell it if you are interested. Shoot me an e-mail.
good luck!

Allis, I have been around 2 types of these loaders. 1st...The "Pop-up- baleloader" The loader latches to the side of the truck/trailer, whatever, the bale is taken inside of the steel cage assembly. Makes a 90degree turn, where a elevator chain with 2in. long teeth, move the bale up vertivally to the top of the loaders upright part and spit it out on a little platform where the men gather the bale and stack in on the truck/trailer. The chain is powered by the ground wheels of the loader.
2nd... is a "45-Degree Loader".(This loader was known by the makers name I think. I can't remember that name just now.) Just like the other one in the way its mounts. This loader is a 4in high by bale wide trough with an elevator chain traveling upward (ground wheel drive) to take the bale higher so the men on the truck can retrieve the bale either of the 45 degree incline or off the platform at the top as the stack get higher on the truck/trailer. Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

I have heard of them referred to as a "bale flip" but don't know their exact name. I think they were once popular here in North Texas. I bought a bunch of old equipment from a small retired farmer in Southern Oklahoma about 2 years ago and got one...but it needs a little bit of work and I have not gotten around to it yet. Also, my fields are not real long, so am not sure how well I would maneuver it aroung. I have a neighbor who has a very large/long hay field and he has 2 that look quite a bit newer. He uses them every year and it seems to make his work go quicker. I think the name I saw on the side of them was "Graves" or something like that. I could take a pic of mine...and try to see if I could find a brand name on my neighbors. Send me an email if you want want more info.

Tim

You do not want one of the throwers they ae dangerous. find one that has the pickup that takes the bale up and places it on a platform, or one of the ferris wheel bale loaders. I have a ferris wheel loader it works good it does not like bales to be on edge but works real good iven in tighter small fields. It has a hitch that hooks up to the side of the trailer or truck.

I've worked with the ground drive type. We called it the "George" no clue why.

Clipped on the side of the steel wagons and the 5 ton flatbed. Worked ok, probably just as well off to tow the wagon and have the bales push up a chute off the baler.
