I'm wondering if the splines on the pto's are the same or vary ?I have a IH 300 utility and it came with some impliments that I dont think have ever been used and the 3 point is broken ,Its a great loader but I need to mow and bale and use my tiller I found a 400 Case thats close to home and I can barely afford but is in good shape and should work do I need an adapter or do I have to get the shafts reworked to fit??

The pto's are 1 3/8" with 6 splines for 540 RPM.
For 1000 RPM the shaft is 1 3/8" with 21 splines on tractors with less then 120 hp over 120hp the shaft is 1 3/4" and 21 splines. The only execptions to this would be some old (pre1940) tractors that had 1 1/8" 6 splines shafts. Hope this helps.

You then mentioned 3pt tho, and that is complicated. Niether IHC 300 nor Case of that era had _true_ 3pt hitches, and adapting them is sometimes not the best for some implements.
