I purchased a Long 1199A backhoe to go on my new John Deere. It has been converted to run off the hydrolics from the tractor and will not work with my John Deere on demand hydrolics. I would like to converte back to the original pto driven hydrolics. I see pumps for sale in the 23 to 40 gal. per minute range. What should I use? Is there a better way? John Deere wants $1000.00 to add a full time pump to my tractor.

Long would be the best source for size of the pump.

Will you get your own resivoir as well, or plumb through the tractor rear end? The parts do add up in cost as you go.

Most 3rd party backhoes have adaptor sets for their valves to switch between open to closed center hydraulics. I would expect that to be your cheapest option - $50 or less.

I would be talking to Long about the possibilities. A real good local hydraulics supplier could also fit you up with the valve & parts numbers.

He needs a load sense valve not just closed center.
