What kind of Allis 6 cyl motor (gas) is in a Gleaner G? Had one basically giver to me, and it was overhauled. I don't know about the rest of the combine. It's in decent shape...Just wondered if I can salvage the motor for a pulling tractor..

I beleive they used a General Motors 292 in some of the older Gleaners. Only experience I had with the G was a diesel model.

Tim is right; mine has the Allis engine, 301 c.i., same as the 190. Good engine but VERY thirsty.

1968-69 G gas had an A-C G2800 6-cylinder inline, same as a 190XT tractor. 1970-72 G gas had GM 350 V8.
