We are having a problem with the belts being loose on our john deere baler. The baler is about ten years old and has the monitor system on it. We put new splices in the belts because they were worn and the belts were loose. Well they worked fine till a few rounds and the belts stopped pulling. So I took one belt that seemed like it was tighter than the rest and I found the loosest one {these also were matched long or short} and we cut the belts down to the same size well this worked for a couple of rounds and it quit working. We then found a bearing on top that was cracked so we changed it. This still did not fix the problem. The dealer said they have no idea what is wrong either. Has anyone had this problem any help is appeciated thaks in advance.

john deere belt are 525 and 531 so they say, resized belt on a 5 year old baler..the belts did not measure the 525 and 535 so what did deere do lol save a little money huh 2 or 3 inches here and there adds up....i always buy new belts 531 and cut off old one to short belts, i keep my new belts on outside also make wrap feed better..oh yes i keep old belts around to run belts in, work on baler belt and run it back in.. i lay out 531 and 525 on concrete..i look at belts with gate up locked and tighter tight and see which are loose and start with tight ones put on new ends lay them out and mark concrete..make all belts that length and then do other size same way on yes try to keep 2 belt so i take out 2 long at a time and long belts will work to run short out and in...have nice day may god bless

Russell, did you remove all belts at same time to re-size and re-lace? If you did are you positive you have belts installed around rollers correctly according to decal on side of baler. When tailgate is closed does tension roll arm contact stop? This is similiar to installing a serpentine fan belt on newer vehicle, one right way-several wrong ways.Tx Jim
