Well, I made it back. The new job is going great and so far Iowa has been pretty good. I finally got my cable modem hooked up. I will keep answering the Vermeer questions like before, but I will not comment on anything that has not been released yet.

James

Welcome back! Know what you mean about stuff not released. You probably had to sign something when you started work stating you would not tell anyone anything about new product development. Been there done that. Hope the job is going well.

John

The move went well, it was the first time that I had a moving company to help. That was nice. I have actually already been back to NC. I volunteered for a service trip to the southeast and took a long weekend while I was there.

James:

I was just at a dealer and looked at on of the new M's way to rich for my wallet. What is with the absolutely huge tires on them? Reduction in ground pressure?
I ran an XL for a while on Saturday, nice baler. There may be one of those in my shed in a few years...when they get cheap enough

Some customers really like the larger tires. The baler won't bounch as much in the field and pulls easier in general. They are an option.

This year was sort of an average year for hay tools. Many of the customers in the cow/calf business purchased tractors this year. Utility tractor sales are still red hot but compacts are off 9%.
Have you had to get used to the storms that blow up in Iowa?

There haven"t been any bad storms here so far. A couple of thunderstorms here and there but nothing to write home about. We had a nice steady rain all day today. From what I have heard sales are good, not great so far with the exception of the M baler, they have beening doing great.

Welcome back. :) I don"t think any questions I have on my 605F will get you into trouble. :) :) Heard rumors of a compact-size round baler, but I won"t ask. ;)

Wait until winter for weather issues. ;) ;) I"m across the border in MN near Mankato if you look on a map, bend of the MN river.

Does Vermeer go to Farmfest - ag show coming up here in southern MN?

I am sure that the local dealers will be attending and probably with a factory representative. I am in engineering so I would be out of the loop there.

I will be happy to help with your 605F all I can.
I was up around Hammel Equipment stores a couple weeks ago. Is that near you? I don't have a map handy.
