I recently purchased a #16 flatbed trailer that I plan to restore. Problem is the hitch has been replaced with something home made and it is missing a few parts for the brake actuating mechanism. Can anybody help? I would be interested in purchasing salvage parts/trailers to get the parts or fabricating some of them on my own if someone could provide me with parts I could use as a pattern or drawings. Any help or info will be appreciated.

There were 4 of them at Portland yesterday, 3 with orignal hitch, one converted to ball hitch and as I was typing that I wasen't sure if all my info was correct. Insted of hydrolic it is mechanical surge, the one that was converted does not have the brakes hooked up

Are you within driving distance from Portland, In. Show? I think there might be one there this weekend.

Surge hydrolic cylinder in ball hitch and if you wanted to back up then you had to put a pin in to lock out the brake otherwise backing would lock the brake tight, know of 2, one restored, the other not

Would the other be for sale or would the parts be available?

No, he just a couple of years ago got his Dads trailer back and has not gotten around to doing anything with it and it has had the hitch changed also
