International Wagon?

I have an International two wheel wagon (I was calling it a truck bed modified until I read the tag that says it is an International) It has a hitch on it which I use on my Farmall A. This was a gift from my wife"s uncle. Recently one of the 15" tires gave out and I have been trying to repair the wheel.

It was supposed to be tubeless but am told I now have to put a tube in it which I recently bought. The wheel is an 8 lug rim. I cleaned it up and sprayed it with rust retardent spray (can"t recall the name but it is in a blue spray can and turns black when applied). Since the stem hole was really worn and sharp I took it to a welder and asked that a washer be welded in there to prevent cutting of my new stem.

My question finally is how would I find a replacement rim for this that fits and works. I found an 8 lug rim at a junk yard but its tire rubbed the body and basically I couldn"t put it on the wagon because of it.

I use the wagon on my small property to haul wood and I"d like to take it down the road again to get some horse manure.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to get as much info for evaluation as possible.

See if your welder can put a patch over the hole and drill a new valve stem hole.

if your not worried about originality then just find a deeper offset rim. all the old chevy 4x4's had deep offset 15" 6 lug rims. just measure the bolt pattern and check it out.

"just find a deeper offset rim"

I actually had a 4X4 15" rim with a great tire on it from the salvage yard but it was too deep because the lug bolts would not pass through the holes. I did learn that about the rims at the salvage yard though but the guy said probably a ford rim would fit best. I'm hoping that the welder will be able to fix the old rim wihich might cost me all of 10-20$

Thanks for all the input about this relatively simple problem. I've learned a lot.

If all else fails find a rim that is a 15" and take it to a good welder and have him cut the centers out of the wheels and weld the good rim onto the ih center. What he would do is just cut next to the part that the tire goes on. If done right it will be good as new. But it would not be real good for high speed. I have had this done with old chevy 6 bolt rims when they were hard to find. Good luck with your wheel.

Could you find a model no. on that tag. For the IHC #20-#21 2 wheel trailers either with or without electric brakes the book only lists a 6 lug rim in either a 15" or a 14.5" for 7:50X15-8 ply or 8:00X14.5-12 ply tire

The model number on the wagon is IH HFE and some numbers which I have apparently forgotten. I think it was 349411

My bad, it is only a 6 lug rim. I'll look for a model number. It amazes me first that this thing was some kind of real "wagon" and secondly that you are able to look up specific info about it. To see it I thought it was entirely home made.
