First, there is no "stupid" questions.

Now, The way to fill the trans/rearend is threw a filler plug back by the PTO shaft. Fill it up to the hole. But first, the trans and the rear end share the same fluid. There is another plug under the rear end. It is in-between the draw-bar supports that are bolted to the rear-end. You will need a 3/4"(?) square tube or a 3/4"(?) ratchet to get the plug out. I am pretty sure it was a 3/4" plug. That will drain what little is left by the bull gears. If any more questions, just ask.
