Joe, I would only bore the block as far as needed and purchase a good used set of cast iron or a new set of aluminum pistons, depending on your budget and what the tractor will be used for. High compression aluminum pistons used for pulling are availible and are advertised in Green Magazine, but Be prepared to spend around $800 for a set with rings and no pins. Sleeves are availible but the cost of them plus machining and installation can run $1000 plus the price of pistons. There are sets of used oversize pistons for sale on the web that would work just fine for most applications. Prices range $200-$400. A new set of rings cost $100 from Deere and if you need pins they run about $65 each. Good luck!

Joe,
Standard piston oversizes are .045", .090", & .125". You can search through this forum or the various magazines for the oversize you need for your tractor. Also, you can get dry sleeves from Hinrich's that can be installed, then bored to fit your pistons. I have used them with good results, been in my D for 13 years. Good luck, Paul
