O.K. on the 50 you know the gears are: 6 4 5 2 3 1 R

I think, I'd have to go out and look.

Well Sometimes I cant get it over to go into 3,5,6. So sometimes all I got is 1,2,4,R. How do I fix it?

On a tractor like that you have to remember to push the clutch ahead just enough to roll the gears a little so the trasmission can shift from low to high or high to low range. Just thought I'd mention it in case you are not familiar with that.

Joe, if you can't even get the lever to move through the crossover gate it sounds like your problem is in the over/under drive shift rail interlock. It doesn't sound like it's releasing when the shift lever tries to move it. With the limited information we have that's probably the best guess & a real good place to start looking for the problem. Once you pull the shift cover & inspect the parts inside you will be able to furnish more information, so maybe then we can make a repair recommendation. Have you tried holding the shift lever all the way up or all the way down while shifting to see if that makes a difference, if it does that will tell us something right there...
