Anybody have any comments on the 1520 Deere with gas engine? Things to watch for? Your experience with one? Much appreciated, thanks!

a friend of mine bouthg a 1520 Gas at an auction a little over a year ago. last spring, we used it and a 855 that is 4 wheel drive to clear three acres of woods and they worked great. the 1520 was able to do just about any thing that the 855 could do. it would have helped if the 1520 had 4WD due to the hills and mud. but other than that, it worked great.

one thing that i did not like about the 1520 was the loader that it had. it had a JD 37 loader and it stuck so far out in the front, it wasdiffucult to make tight corners. when we were clearing the woods, we ended up takeing off the loader on the 1520.

Hi. I've had my JD1520 with a 48 loader for about 4 years and just love it. If I could wish to make things better, since I do a lot of loader work, I wished mine had the reverse/foward shuttle option, and maybe faster hydraulics. My pump is the 8-cylinder one but it could be faster for the loader. Can't think of any other compliants and I plan to keep it a long time. Hope this helps.
