Where would you find that piece of hardware? I never dreamed that Mother Deere would putting the semi-mounted mower on a New Generation.

I got this one at a farm auction. Can you use it? I can't. I'll probably use it to take up space in the barn. : )

checked parts book for #8 mower, this is hitch for new generation as mentioned below, 3010 through 4020 R and S "without wide sweeping drawbar" #5 and #8 had same hitch setup for the quick hitch so this shoulw work with either.

For 2510, 2520, 3010, 3020, 4000, 4010, and 4020 tractors. I put a picture from the op manual in "parts and pieces" but it shrunk so you can no longer read it.

That looks a lot like one I saw that was fitted to an early Ford to use with the JD Mower. I THINK the two little arms that go to the left in the photo hooked to those pins normally used for the side sway bars, and it kept the crossbar from turning in the JD mower clamps as the tractor pulled forward. The Ferd that this setup was hooked to could barely pull that No.5 mower, and whenever the sickle got a little dull the tractor driver had to downshift. It also had some kind of adapter on the PTO. I used his #5 a few times to mow for him with the John Deere and I raised it by hooking a chain to the place where the cylinder normally hooked and then hooked the other end to the cultivator lift arm that was bolted to the rockshaft since our 41 JD AW had no remote hydraulics.

I think it is for a New Generation tractor. You have to remove the 3Pt arms and use the pins for the 3Pt in the holes. The frame is clamped to the hitch support with the bar through the loops Roger
