FLASH....Was thinking the only way I could fix the adjustable steering on my MT was to weld it. The first several ratchet stops were pretty much wore down and locking collar would not hold.. Came up with the idea of a collar that fits over the main shaft with a hole drilled and tapped in it. I used an allen screw, tapered it slightly on end that contacts the ratchets and used the existing hole that the ball bearing sat in..Now if I want to make an adjustment, I loosen the allen screw, moce column in or out, and tighten the allen screw...It really does work -GREAT-..

If anyone is interested, I will take pictures, and make a drawing, with diminsions, and try and post em.....

Jerry, I don't own an MT. I have 40-420-430 models, but that sounds like a great idea! I don't like to see anything welded up.
