Just wondering if anyone can tell me if a block out of an A is the same as the one for a 60

JM4020, the answer to your question is "yes and no". The 60 takes an A4320R block which was later used as a direct replacement for the late A's. The late A's (s/n 648,000 and up) originally used an A3703R block which looks identical to the 4320 block with the exception that the 4320 block has two bosses on the bottom of the block that are tapped for bolts to bolt up through the frame on the 60's. These simply are not used on the late A's. The 3703 block will physically bolt to a 60 crankcase but there will be no bolt holes on the bottom to run the bolts up through the frame. Any block out of an earlier A will not physically bolt up to a 60 and vice versa. Hope this helps. Mike
