I have a 1952 G it has been bored and sleeved to std with F1075R gas pistons, F1074R gas manifold and I just bought F486R flat head. My question is what kind of horsepower will I get with all the above installed and I also have a F1306R 70 all fuel head will it do anything any better? Thanks John D

I have and tractorpull with a 51 John Deere-G. It is bored .090 over and has the FLAT HEAD with the gas manifold (not the tall pulling manifold), the baffle has been removed from manifold, some porting done on head and manifold, has aluminum high compression pistons. It dyno's at 68 HP. I pull in 5000-7000# farm and antique classes with good success with 16.9x38's tires.

It might make as much power as a 70 gas but use more fuel. Duplex carburation however will improve idle and part throttle economy. Unless pulling and trying to get into a light class the 70 is way more tractor than a "G".

Hey John, depending on what your compression is your hp with the flat head may be in the high 50's to the low 60's.Good luck to ya,Jack(TN).
