I reset the main bearings and replaced the clutch facings. My problem is keeping the bearing race from moving out on the crank shaft. Everything works find for a while, than I notice I have excess wobble in the clutch assembly. I remove the cover and friction disk and the bearing race has moved out on the crankshaft. What do I need to do now?

From your description, you may have a missing part. You need to examine a parts list/drawing and see if everything is intact. Do you have the bolt and large washer screwed into the end of the crankshaft to hold the clutch driver in place? I can't visualize things coming loose if the bolt is in place. Give more details if possible.

Gomer, Thanks for the reply. Looking more closely what I found was inside the pully there is a thin sheet of steel that fits closely arround the crank shaft. It appears on mine that the bearing race is held in place by that steel sheet. On mine the race had rubbed against the steel till it wore threw. I have 2 different diagrams that don't show anything else to limit the movement of the bearing race. I have "patched" this spot and it seams to have taken care of the problem. I need to run it more to know for sure. Have you ever experenced anything like this before?
