I need to take off my gear reduction cover on my 52 G. Am I opening a can of worms here? I am hopeing to take the cover off fix my leaks and put it back together. Is there anything going to be popping or flying off as i take the cover off and or is their anything i need to watch out for? Thanks

I have never pull a G model before. Make note of how the clutch driving disk is mounted on the crank, it should have a V mark on the crank and the driving disk also.... If not put back on in the SAME SPOT, when you crank the G up it will shake the leaves off a tree. Good Luck, Ben

if the G is the same as an A, you half to remove the right brake assembly.

you talking about pulley side ,,,,not to much stress, did my A the other day, have to pull the pulley first,Pulling that gear off crank was interesting, need a good puller for your G, I bet Youll do fine,If the G is like the A watch that spring that holds cam bearing race in,,cover might stick because of dowl pins and bearing on reduction gear ,,,good luck,,,Bill

On the G tractors there is a spring that holds the R.H. cam bearing in place. It will fall out of place when you remove the reduction gear cover. That should be the only surprise in store for you, everything else is a matter of removing the clutch components. Sometimes the bore for the bearing on the transmission input shaft in the cover will wear oversize. There used to be a kit to rebore and bush them, but finding one now might be a problem. There really isn't much else to go wrong with the cover itself. Good luck,
Paul
