I have a 1520 I bought awhile back and when I start it I have noticed the Alternator or generator light stays on for awhile after I start it.It will go off after it has been run for awhile. Someone has put a alt. on it with a built in regulator I think because the service manual said it had a separate regulator on it at one time. Thanks for any help

If it has a Delco alternator on it,this is normal. There is a 创cut in speed创or rpm that must be met for the alt. to star charging. This speed differs from one alt. to another, depending which kind of internal regulator is used,or how the alt. is wired up. After the tractor has warmed up, rev. the engine up to governed speed, this should make the alt. charge, and the light go out.

Ayup. Memories a bit fuzzy but I remember an under the dash regulator inside the battery compartment. Motorola alternator was factory equipment. Light came on when first started and would stay on a bit unless rpm was increased slightly. Thats normal I believe as all my Deeres of that vintage do it. They could be swapped to an aftermarket internally regulated alternator. Eventually Deere made that standard equipment.
